What the heck!?

The U.S. government just reached an agreement regarding the debt ceiling and current "crisis". I really cannot believe the way we are behaving and the choices we are making as a country. Why must we sensationalize and make everything an "emergency"? Such extreme measures have been taken lately (i.e. closing all government offices including universities in certain states for weeks at a time) that go against what America is. This country is great. We have order and are civilized. Let's not stray from that.

I am especially disappointed with the use of different vocabulary words to attempt to assuage the topic being discussed. For example, the term tax increases has been changed to revenue increases for the government. I know that this is a part of marketing and has gone on for decades but by doing this it is simply making it more difficult for the layman to follow what is going on and separating the political group from the average citizen.

Also, I do not know all the details for the current financial situation of the USA but by raising the debt ceiling we are simply taking out more loans to pay off our current loans. Does this sound sustainable? I am glad we made the responsible decision not to default. It was ridiculous that that was even an option on the table but the current solution will not work either.

I have a few more comments that are quite critical of current decisions being made but I do not have solutions to offer. I will hold back for now...
